Natalie Cape The Number Cruncher
I have been working within bookkeeping and management accounts for over 15 years. In January 2003 I joined a Cornish management accounts firm as a trainee and worked my way up, gaining the AAT qualification in 2006, then progressing to taking on the position of Manager in 2013. This involved managing a team of 10 people and over 20 individual clients.
After gaining a vast amount of experience and knowledge, I decided it was time to pursue my dream of starting up my own business. My goal is to deliver great value and service to all my clients to help them succeed in their own business.
I believe that financial information can be presented in a more engaging way to clients, in order for them to better understand the information they are being provided. If clients have useful and helpful information then this will enable them to make better decisions for their business.
So Hippo Business Services was then born in 2014!
James Strong The Thinking One
Co-founding the business with Natalie, I used my experience to help establish the vision for the business as well as getting it up and running. I’ve built up 11 years’ experience working within an innovative marine safety company across a variety of business disciplines including sales, marketing, IT, finance and strategy. Having managed a number of these areas I became Business Development Director of Reflex Marine Ltd in 2013 (my full time job!).
My role at Hippo is therefore ‘behind the scenes’ assisting Natalie with marketing, strategy and growing the business. I’ve always felt that service based businesses, such as accountants and solicitors, need to take a new approach adapting to the ever changing demands of modern businesses. Hippo is here to lead the change!
